The Fantastical Historical returns:

Building on the momentum of last semester, the Center is hosting two additional events in The Fantastical Historical series. These events engage with imaginative and speculative history through games and play, offering a unique way to explore complex historical themes.  View upcoming events in this series.

Pittsburgh and World History:

What does the history of the world look like from the vantage point of our own city? The Global Pittsburgh series examines the historical and contemporary issues that connect the "Steel City" to the rest of the world. From comparative roundtables to interactive historical games, this series highlights the many different ways local history can be experienced and shared.

AI in World History

What can history reveal about one of the most debated human inventions? In this series, we invite historians, media theorists, and literary scholars to speak to generative AI and the ways in which it has and continues to shape our scholarship.

(il)liberalism

What happens when liberal ideals are challenged by the very democratic institutions meant to uphod them? The (il)liberalism series brings together scholars from a wide range of backgrounds to scrutinize the recent proliferation of illiberal practices by democratically elected regimes around the world.
